Natural Vitality Advocate was where this work began. I created it after years of epilepsy, disability, brain injury, chronic pain, medical treatment, rehabilitation, patient advocacy, and personal research changed the way I thought about health. I wanted a place where I could share what I had learned without pretending that one diet, supplement, practitioner, medication, or wellness system had every answer.
The original mission was straightforward: help people think more clearly, ask better questions, build stronger health foundations, and navigate difficult decisions with more confidence. The platform brought together research, lived experience, patient advocacy, practical lifestyle strategies, and faith while trying to be clear about where each kind of information began and ended.
What Natural Vitality Advocate Was Built Around
Evidence and Discernment
Strong claims deserve strong evidence. Emerging ideas deserve appropriate uncertainty. Personal experience deserves to be identified as personal experience. That principle was central to NVA, and it remains central to my work today.
Lived Experience
The work was shaped by what I had lived through: seizures, neurological injury, disability, surgeries, chronic pain, PTSD, medication burden, recovery work, and the daily reality of managing complex health. That experience gave me a perspective, not a medical license and not universal answers. That distinction still matters.
Nutrition and Lifestyle Foundations
I continue to place a high value on whole-food nutrition, movement, sleep, hydration, natural light, stress regulation, supportive relationships, and sustainable routines. My food choices are also shaped by biblical stewardship, animal welfare, sourcing, and my own experience—not by a belief that animal foods are inherently unhealthy. Supplements and specialized protocols can have a place, but they should not distract from the foundations that repeatedly matter.
Patient Empowerment and Appropriate Medical Care
I believe patients should understand their options, participate actively in decisions, ask questions, and seek second opinions when appropriate. My own life includes long-term prescription treatment and specialty neurological care alongside nutrition and lifestyle strategies. The point was never to make people choose between responsible medical care and meaningful action in their own lives.
Faith, Purpose and Resilience
My Christian faith is foundational to how I understand suffering, perseverance, purpose, and hope. I do not present faith as a guarantee of a particular health outcome.
Clarity Over Hype
Health information is full of absolutes, fear, marketing, tribalism, and personalities presented as authorities on everything. The direction I chose then—and continue to follow now—is the opposite: explain what is known, what is uncertain, what I have personally experienced, and what a source actually claims.
Why I Moved to Real David Julian
As the work grew, Natural Vitality Advocate became too narrow a container for what I was actually building. Health remained important, but it was no longer the whole story. My books, patient advocacy, epilepsy work, faith, personal writing, research, and lived experience were increasingly parts of one body of work rather than separate projects that needed to sit behind a health-brand name.
Moving the platform to David Julian / Real David Julian gave that work a clearer home. Instead of asking a separate brand to represent every subject I write about, the site now stands under my own name. That makes the relationship between the books, articles, resources, advocacy, faith, and personal experience easier to understand—and it leaves room for the work to keep growing without forcing everything into a single health category.
The change was an evolution, not a rejection of everything that came before it. The principles worth keeping came with me: evidence and discernment, respect for lived experience, strong health foundations, patient participation, faith, intellectual independence, and clarity over hype. What changed was the container.
Natural Vitality Advocate is now a retired chapter in that history. Real David Julian is the current platform and the place where the work continues.
Where Different Influences Fit
Over the years I have learned from conventional medicine, nutritional research, patient communities, books, clinicians, researchers, and wellness figures including Anthony William (Medical Medium). Some practices associated with William—particularly celery juice and the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie—became part of my personal routine. I can describe my experience with those practices without treating that experience as proof of the mechanisms or therapeutic claims attached to them.
William states that much of his health information comes from an entity he calls the “Spirit of Compassion.” I have no independent way to verify that claimed source, and I do not present it as established fact. The unverifiable nature of that source does not, by itself, establish that individual health claims associated with William are true or false. When a claim can be evaluated through chemistry, physiology, clinical research, reproducibility, or observable outcomes, I want to evaluate it on those grounds.
No outside person or system defines my work. Attribution is not affiliation, discussing an idea does not require accepting every claim attached to it, and disagreement with a claim does not require dismissing everything associated with its source.
